How character auctions work
A quick guide to listing, bidding on, paying for, and receiving characters through the Character Bazaar.
How does the gem wallet work?
All listing fees, bid reserves, payments, and sale proceeds use the gem wallet linked to your account. You can send gems to the site from an eligible character or send them back to one. For either transfer, the selected character must be offline for at least 5 minutes. A character in an active auction cannot be used for wallet transfers.
Which characters can be listed?
The character must belong to you, be at least level 8, be offline for at least 5 minutes, have no guild, and have no skull. Your account may have only one auction that is Active or awaiting payment at a time.
What are the listing price and duration rules?
Publishing costs 100 gems. This fee is charged immediately and is never refunded, including when you cancel an auction. The starting bid must be at least 115 gems, and the end date must be between 1 and 29 days from publication.
How do proxy bids work?
You submit a private maximum bid, not necessarily the public price you will pay. The public price starts at the starting bid and, when another bidder exists, follows the second-highest maximum plus 1 gem. Your private maximum is never shown to other players. If two maximum bids are equal, the earlier bid wins.
What is the bid reserve?
When you bid, the system reserves 10% of your private maximum, with a minimum of 51 gems, from your available wallet balance. It is not a regular payment and remains reserved while you lead. If someone outbids you, the reserve is released back to your available balance.
What happens when an auction ends?
An auction without bids expires and the character stays with the seller. If there is a winner and their wallet has enough gems, payment and transfer happen automatically. Otherwise, the auction enters Payment Due and the winner has 7 days to add gems and pay. If that deadline expires, the reserve is forfeited, the auction is cancelled, and the character stays with the seller.
How is a completed sale settled?
The winner pays the final public price from their wallet. The character is transferred immediately to the winner’s account. The seller receives the final price minus a 12% commission, rounded down, in their gem wallet. They may later send those gems to an eligible character.
What happens to Founder Package benefits?
Founder Package benefits belong to the account, not to the character being sold. While a character is listed, Founder-only items, title, and outfit are hidden from public auction previews so they are not mistaken for transferable benefits. After a completed sale, the character is synchronized with the buyer’s active Founder Package: eligible benefits are added when the buyer has the required package, while Founder item, title, and outfit are removed when they do not. A cancelled or expired auction does not change the original seller’s benefits.
Can I cancel, and what is blocked while listed?
The seller may cancel only an active auction with no bids; the 100-gem listing fee remains spent. While an auction is Active or awaiting payment, its character cannot log in, be deleted, or be used for wallet transfers. Finished auctions remain visible in history. Founder Package benefits belong to the account: they are synchronized after a sale and are not presented as transferable benefits to prospective buyers.
